A Guide to Music for Your Wedding
Music FAQ >>
You should consult with your
organist and/or musicians as early in the planning process for your
wedding as you can. They can provide valuable advice about which of
the pieces listed here (or other music you may choose) will sound
best in your church or wherever your wedding will take place.
There are two broad categories of music that need to be considered
when planning your wedding - ceremonial music and reception music.
The following interview with Eddie Harris, band leader and senior
partner of Dwight Howard Orchestras, provides some tips to veteran
and novice planners alike on how to choose music for your reception.
There is a section following this interview that lists suggestions
and repertoire for your ceremony.
You may decide to employ a DJ for your reception rather than a
'live' band. The term 'band' or 'musician' can be used
interchangeably with the term 'DJ' in the following interview.
